Qualification type: Level 3 GCE AS & GCE A

This course provides you with the opportunity to develop all the skills needed to become a well-rounded, versatile dancer. By training in a variety of dance genres from Ballet and Jazz, to Street Dance and Contemporary, dancers are given the tools to develop the artistry and technique that will lead them to the next step of becoming a professional dancer. Students explore the wide variety of employment opportunities available as a dancer in the performing arts industry and develop skills through both theory and practical work that will leave them well equipped to pursue their chosen career.

Progression routes: Professional Dance/Drama and Musical Theatre courses in Drama Schools and Universities such as LMA, LIPA, The Urdang Academy and Bird College in Liverpool and London. Careers would include working in theatre and live performance, joining touring dance companies, backing dancers, dance teachers, musical theatre and acting.
