The physics course will help you develop thinking and practical skills and apply those in a variety of contexts. Your studies will take you from the very small (such as subatomic particles) to the very large (stars and the wider universe). The physics course will develop your understanding of the physical laws of our Universe. You will gain better and more extensive problem-solving skills as you work through theoretical problems and by performing a variety of experiments. The course will challenge every student, and at the same time inspire your interest in learning as we cover some of the most fascinating concepts in science. 
Entry requirements
Higher tier entry for Science (Double award) or Physics (Triple award).
 Minimum of B in Physics. 

Progression routes: Physics is particularly suitable for those who wish to follow careers in pure or applied science, astrophysics, medical or nuclear physics, maths, engineering, medicine or any other subject in which numerical skills and critical thinking is highly appreciated.

AS Unit 1 (20%): Motion, Energy and Matter

AS Unit 2 (20%): Electricity and Light
A2 Unit 3 (24%): Oscillations and Nuclei
A2 Unit 4 (25%): Fields and Options
A2 Unit 5 (10%): Practical examination
