LLS - Sports Coaching and Development Qualification: WJEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (Equivalent to 3 A-Levels)
The sport sector is a growing industry with traditional roles such as coaching and teaching, personal training and physiotherapy, to roles with growing popularity like sports journalism and digital media, sports psychology and sports management/business. Sport Coaching & Development is for learners who wish to enter the coaching and development sector as a coach, work within the health sector or within sports business and many more. The qualification covers the key topic areas of careers and self-employment in the sport industry, health and wellbeing, applied coaching skills, sports psychology and anatomy and physiology. The qualification is taught over three days with two days spent on independent study and gaining work experience. LLS students also have access to exclusive paid work experience opportunities in the UK and abroad at the annual Global Coaching Conference. Progression routes: Previous students have gone on to undergraduate studies in physiotherapy, clinical exercise physiology, teaching and sport science. Employment and apprenticeship routes are also possible in areas such as sports coaching, sports development and personal training.
