Annwyl Rhieni / Gwarcheidwiaid / Dear Parents / Carers
We hope you have enjoyed a wonderful summer break with family and friends and are feeling refreshed and ready for another exciting and successful school year.
We are delighted to share that our Enrichment Programme will begin on Monday, 7 September, offering our learners an exciting and varied range of opportunities to explore new interests, develop skills and make new connections. At Prestatyn High School, our after-school enrichment programme complements the excellent learning taking place during the school day and runs from 3.00pm to 4.00pm. Our enrichment opportunities provide students with the chance to extend their learning beyond the classroom, try something new and develop a wide range of personal and social skills. Taking part in enrichment can enhance enjoyment of school life, build confidence and resilience, and contribute to the strong sense of community that we are so proud of at Prestatyn High School.
Whether students are developing a new talent, discovering a new hobby or simply spending time with others who share their interests, enrichment provides a positive and inclusive environment in which they can develop their communication, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills The programme is open to students across all year groups and includes a fantastic variety of opportunities across three key areas: additional learning, group activities and sport. Our enrichment programme is shaped by student interests, with dedicated members of staff and senior leaders working together to ensure that we offer a broad and engaging selection of activities. This term, opportunities include: Art Club, Computer & Board Games Club, STEM Racing, Lego Club, VR Club, Film & Craft Club, Dungeons & Dragons Club and many more.
Our PE Department will be offering a range of sporting activities, including traditional favourites such as Netball and Football, alongside exciting opportunities such as Pickleball & NFL Flag Football. These activities will be led by members of the PE Department or tutors from LLS. Regular physical activity is a fantastic way to support students’ physical and emotional well-being, as well as developing confidence and teamwork.
The enrichment timetable for this term, is attached to this letter and provides full details of the activities available. The timetable is colour coded to highlight the learning activity, all year groups are eligible to attend each session unless specified. Please refer to the key at the bottom of the timetable for guidance. All enrichment sessions will be recorded on our school computer systems and students will be registered in the same way as they would be for a normal lesson. For students who normally travel home by school bus, there is also the opportunity to attend enrichment sessions and use the school minibus to get home. This must be booked in advance through the school reception office to ensure that a place is available. The latest time to book the minibus is by first break on the day of travel.
We strongly encourage all students to take advantage of the exciting opportunities available through our Enrichment Programme. There really is something for everyone, and we hope that students will embrace the chance to try something new, discover new passions, develop their skills and enjoy spending time with others.
I look forward to welcoming our students to the enrichment sessions and to seeing them make the most of everything our programme has to offer.
Yr eiddoch yn gywir / Yours faithfully,
