Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to inform you of an important change to how we use our social media platforms.
Over recent years, social media has provided a valuable way for us to celebrate the achievements, experiences and
successes of our learners and wider school community. However, following careful consideration of the increasing
safeguarding risks associated with sharing images of young people online, we have decided that we will no longer post
direct images of pupils on our public social media accounts.
This has not been an easy decision. We are incredibly proud of our learners and remain fully committed to celebrating
their achievements and sharing the many exciting opportunities that take place within our school. However, we
believe that this change is a necessary step in ensuring that we continue to place the safety and wellbeing of our pupils
at the heart of everything we do.
While you will no longer see direct photographs of pupils on our social media channels, we will continue to showcase
and celebrate school life through a range of creative and alternative approaches. We are confident that these will still
allow us to highlight the fantastic work, achievements and experiences of our school community.
We appreciate that this may be disappointing for some families, and indeed for us as a school, but we hope you will
understand the reasons behind this decision and support us in taking this precautionary measure.
